Technical Visit to CLP Black Point Power Station

A group of MSc students from EMEE6002 (Sustainability and Climate Change), ELEC6095 (Smart Grid), and MEBS6001 (Building Services – Electrical Installation), led by Dr. Albert Lee and Dr. KH Lam, visited CLP Power’s Black Point Power Station (BPPS) on April 22, 2025. This remarkable visit aimed to enrich and deepen the students’ understanding of CLP Power’s latest power generation technologies and sustainable energy development. The students explored the BPPS Gallery, which highlights the Combined Cycle Gas Turbine technology and the latest H-class gas-fired generation units, Units D1 and D2, as well as various fuel supply sources used for power generation at BPPS. The visit concluded with a bus tour around BPPS, guided by Ir Kay Leung (Assistant Manager of CLP Power Academy), Ir WY Sze, Ir Francis Leung, Ir WY Li and Ir SW Tai. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone at the CLP Power Academy and BPPS for their insightful sharing and warm hospitality
