Opening Ceremony of The China Mobile – HKU Joint Innovation Centre

The China Mobile – HKU Joint Innovation Centre, established on May 21, 2025, fosters collaborative research between China Mobile Limited and The University of Hong Kong (HKU) researchers in cutting-edge fields such as 6G, AI, Web 3.0, Low Altitude Economy, Edge AI, and Satellite Communications. The world’s largest telecommunication operator has pledged a substantial investment of HKD 50 million in this endeavour. 

The opening ceremony was attended by esteemed guests, including Professor Dong SUN, Secretary for Innovation, Technology, and Industry of the HKSAR; Mr. Limin WANG, Executive Director of China Mobile Group; and Mr. Shuiqiu YE, Deputy Director of the Department of Education, Science, and Technology of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR. Prof. Max SHEN (the Vice President for Research) and Prof. Kaibin HUANG, as Director and Associate Director, respectively, will lead the centre’s operations.
