On June 24, 2025, to celebrate their 30th graduation anniversary, 13 alumni who graduated from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at The University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 1995 returned to their alma mater for a heartwarming reunion. Co-organised by the Development & Alumni Affairs Office (DAAO), the event blended nostalgia with a glimpse into the Department’s exciting future.
Prof. Wei-Ning LEE and Prof. Ngai WONG warmly welcomed the alumni, setting the tone for a day filled with laughter and heartfelt conversations. A highlight of this reunion was a tour of the newly renovated laboratories in the Chow Yei Ching Building, where alumni fondly recalled their student days. The visit to the Photonic Systems Research Lab was also especially memorable, as current students Miss Najia SHARMIN and Mr. Yuanjia WANG showcased their research team, led by Prof. Kenneth Kin-Yip WONG, latest research projects and the laboratory equipment. Alumni were impressed by the Department’s ongoing innovation and inspired by the next generation of engineers.
Lastly, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the EEE alumni, students, Faculty members, and technical and administrative staff for their generous support, which made this event a success. We look forward to welcoming our alumni back in the future for more meaningful exchanges with our students.
