HKU Engineering scholars have been awarded funding in the third round of the Research, Academic and Industry Sectors One-plus (RAISe+). This success highlights the University’s robust commitment to translating world-class research into practical, market-ready solutions that address pressing global challenges. One of the HKU Engineering scholars is Prof. Zhiqin CHU from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and his research team’s project is titled “Wafer-Scale Flexible Diamond Membranes“.
The RAISe+ scheme, supported by the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) of the HKSAR Government, aims to foster cooperation between the research, academic, and industry sectors to accelerate the commercialisation of R&D outcomes. By bridging the gap between laboratories and industrial applications, these projects are poised to deliver substantial societal and economic benefits.
The Department warmly congratulates Prof. Chu and his team on this achievement and looks forward to their continued research progress and future innovations.
