Biography
Dr. Albert T. L. Lee received his B.Sc. degree (Distinction) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1994, M.Sc. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1996, and Ph.D. in Electronic and Computer Engineering, specializing in power electronics, from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Hong Kong SAR in 2014. In 1996, Dr. Lee joined Intel Corporation, Hillsboro, Oregon, USA, as a Senior Component Design Engineer. In 2001, he served as a Senior Corporate Application Engineer in the System-Level Design Group at Synopsys Inc., Mountain View, California, USA. In 2003, he joined the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) Company Ltd. as a Member of Professional Staff while serving as EDA Manager in the Wireline Communications Group. In 2006, he joined the Giant Electronics Limited as a Hardware Design Manager, and was promoted to Associate General Manager in 2008. In 2014, Dr. Lee joined the University of Hong Kong (HKU) as a Research Associate, and became a Post-doctoral Fellow in 2019. In 2016, he was recognized as one of the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics’ Outstanding Reviewers. He received the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics First Place Prize Paper Award in 2023 and the Faculty Outstanding Teaching Award (Team Award) – Teaching Innovations in E-learning in 2024. Dr. Lee is a senior member of the IEEE (Power Electronics Society) and a member of the HKIE. He serves as a reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics and IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics. He has been licensed as a Professional Engineer (Electrical Engineering) in the state of California since 2002.
