We are thrilled to see that our Visiting Professor Prof. Wolfgang Heidrich, a world-leading researcher in Computer Graphics & Computational Imaging, has recently been awarded as an ACM Fellow (Association for Computing Machinery). This is ACM’s most prestigious member grade that recognises the top 1% of ACM members for their outstanding accomplishments in computing and information technology and/or outstanding service to ACM and the larger computing community.
Notably, Prof. Heidrich has been our regular HKU Engineering Visiting Professor for the past 3 years, hosted by Prof. Evan Y. Peng at our EEE department, and was holding the Hong Kong STEM Visiting Professorship in 2024/2025, and has merited many research and knowledge outputs at HKU.
Prof. Heidrich was presented the NAI Fellow, ACM Fellow, Optica Fellow, AAIA Fellow, IEEE Fellow, and Eurographics Fellow, as well as the ACM SIGGRAPH Achievement Award, Test-of-time Award, and Best Paper Award. He was also serving as the ACM SIGGRAPH Asia Technical Papers Chair and IEEE ICCP Program Chair.
