The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Hong Kong have co-organized the “Creative Coder Competition 202/23” at Tam Wing Fan Innovation One on July 8, 2023. The theme of this competition is “Disaster Prevention Warriors – Building Sustainable City”.
To cultivate digital creativity and critical thinking among junior and secondary school students, the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Hong Kong co-organized the Creative Coder Competition 2022/23. The theme of this year’s competition is “Disaster Prevention Warriors – Building Sustainable City”. In this activity, students can apply their coding knowledge to turn their innovative ideas into practical solutions for promoting environmental awareness and attaining sustainable development. The competition was successfully held at Tam Wing Fan Innovation One on July 8, 2023. More than 200 students from around 50 primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong SAR participated in this competition. The competition consists of three categories, namely, Creative Coding Contest, Scratch Kids Challenge, and Installation Design Open Tournament. Pui Ching Middle School received the gold prize in the senior secondary school division. ELCHK Lutheran Academy received the gold prize in the junior secondary school division. Last but not least, St. Francis’ Canossian School received the gold prize in the senior primary school division.
