On May 10 2024, a group of lower and upper secondary students from La Salle College, led by Mr. Samuel Chan (Vice Principal) and Mr. Martin Ma (Career Master), visited HKU. This event started off with an opening address by Prof. KW Chow, Associate Dean of Engineering, which is followed by an interactive workshop and collaborative activities based on our proprietary technology of multicoil wireless power transfer. The main objectives are to inspire and arouse students’ interest in science and technology alongside promoting HKU engineering. The workshop is specially designed in a structured and immersive environment to engage students in hands-on, experiential learning. Besides the workshop, two guided tours are also arranged for them, one at Tam Wing Fan Innovation Wing One followed by another at imseCAVE HIS lab. Our special thanks go to the Faculty of Engineering for sponsoring this activity under the Dean’s Fund for Outreach to Secondary School and Admissions-related Activities. We would also like to extend our profound gratitude and appreciation for all of the support from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering and, last but not least, Innovation Wing.
