Congratulations to Mr. Zhenglong Li, Dr. Vincent Tam, and Prof. Lawrence Yeung for winning the gold medal and two international special awards in the 8th International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada, 2023 with the project “Multi-RiPO: A Multimodal Risk-Manageable Portfolio Optimization Platform for Automated Algorithmic Trading”! The competition was organized by the Toronto International Society of Innovation & Advanced Skills. It had attracted over 600 teams from 50 countries and regions.
The awarded project is targeted to develop an intelligent investment framework for efficiently managing the downside risk exposure while maximizing the trading profits, through combining the historical price trends and the current financial market sentiment analyzed by large language models. The newly proposed Multi-RiPO framework will bring in new insights for fund managers, financial analysts, and data scientists with a brand new framework cooperating with ML/DL/RL techniques and control engineering for financial analysis, and potentially can be applied to multiple financial products such as stocks, cryptocurrency, and other derivatives. Mr. Zhenglong Li is a PhD candidate, co-supervised by Dr. Vincent Tam and Prof. Lawrence Yeung. His research area is computational finance.
